One of Birmingham’s best-known leisure venues has appointed a new centre manager, LCP has announced.

Jo Kinsella will take charge of the day-to-day running of The Arcadian, which is owned and managed by LCP – one of the UK's largest private owners of retail, industrial and office property.

She has been appointed after working as facilities manager for the past 11 years at South and City College, one of the largest further education colleges in Birmingham.

With an early career as a licensee and then as a contract catering manager, her new role enables her to draw on her wide range of management experience to ensure the future success of the centre, which has 10 restaurants, seven bars, two coffee shops, two hotels, the Glee comedy club and 15 retail outlets.

She said the next few months will see her focusing on getting to know tenants, planning summer events and looking at how to enhance the visitor experience.

Jo said: “I’m very excited to be the new centre manager at The Arcadian and to begin working with all our tenants to ensure that it remains one of the most vibrant areas in the city.

“Improvement work is already underway to the centre and the car park, which will update and refresh The Arcadian’s brand, and this will complement the exciting plans to transform Southside. It’s a unique venue in the city and I’m thrilled to be able to play a part in its development.”

Welcoming her to The Arcadian, Jo Salmon, LCP retail portfolio manager, said: “Jo brings a wealth of experience with her and she has some great ideas about how we can continue to improve the centre’s offer for all visitors – whether they come to enjoy a pre-theatre meal or meeting friends for drinks.”
